Pre-op

I chronicle this merely so that it will be and remain chronicled, since one of the things I found out today how hard it is to remember exactly what I have done and who (or what) I have seen when; in fact, at one point I looked at Judy in confusion and said "What chest X-ray?" H'm. Yes.

So, today I went to the JR for a pre-op assessment. This entailed a lot of sitting and waiting, and, in between that, answering innumerable questions, giving a wee sample (which I only just managed, as I foolishly went to the bathroom en route to the appointment), having my blood pressure taken, giving a blood sample, being weighed and measured (am I really only 5' 1"? I was sure I was 5' 3". I can't possibly be shrinking already?), and having an ECG. Then - after another bout of sitting and waiting - I saw a doctor, who checked my heart and lungs, and then sent me off for a chest X-ray. More sitting and waiting, though not too much this time, then home. And sleep.

We were held up on the way home by a military funeral cortege. That didn't exactly brighten the day any.
